H.i.d?

Has any one ever seen the HID head light kits on ebay for the fc? i'm concernd that the HID bulbs would burn out the head light wiring, if anyone has tried them please tell what you thought of them.

True hi/Lo beam HID kits wire to the battery or if they are a single HID bulb they wire to the stock wiring.

A true HID kit with ballasts and bulbs actually draw less than the stock 55 watt sealed beam does.

Now if you are thinking about the aftermarket blue tinted bulbs that have the HID look (typically costing $10-$50), then yes, many of those can overload the stock wiring and cause problems, as most typically draw around double or more what the stock halogen bulbs draw as the extra wattage is required to get minimal light past the blue coating on the bulb.

This thread from the archive compares HID lights: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/thinking-about-hid-lighting-h4-bulbs-fc-specific-test-showing-difference-537202/

If you are going to go with HID's. Get them from Mark. I have a set on my FC currently and will probably get another set for my Fb, and maybe my tacoma in the future.

I'm gonna get them once I have extra money. Its on a list after rebuilding my engine, so it might be a while, though.

The big thing is that the ballasts I have in my kits are DOT and CE certified, unlike 99% of the other kits out there.
