Stock GXL/GTU rims are 15"x6" with a +40 offset. Those wheels you are looking at will fit perfectly if you choose 17"X7", 114.3 bolt pattern and the +40mm offset.
A word of caution here.....I think 17" wheels are too big for a non turbo car. There will be a noticeable deterioration in ride and steering and acceleration because of increased weight and the sidewall of the tire being too short. You need to run a 215/45 and that side wall is too short for this car and suspension setup. Remember, this car was designed before tires like this existed. How do I know? I have 14 lb SSR Competiton wheels in 17"x7.5" with 215/45 tires and the car drives like crap compared to on the stock 15x6 wheels because they follow every little rut and make the car darty. Plus, they slow the car because even though the overall weight is down, the heaviest part of the wheel is 1" farther away from the center of the axle.
Yes, the grip and handling is better on PERFECTLY smooth roads, but for a street driven car 16" wheels would be a better choice.
I know many people will disagree, but this is my experience.

i dont think i'd go as low as 16", 17" is just right and 18" is too big, i want some driveability, and some looks, 17" is in between.
oh and thank you very much for the info!! are you positive that it will fit, and there will be no rubbing?
