GXL radio in 86 base?

I know the antenna connections are different for the GXL/luxury model than for the base/sport. My question is how different are they? and would it be possible to make the GXL headunit fit in a base model?

yeah, forgot to mention its out of an 86 GXL. I did a bit more research, and I understand the systems a bit more. So it should still work with only the rear antenna plugged in? I know there were 2 antennas on the GXL, the rear one and the windshield one, so I just wanted to verify that is works with only one antenna. Thanks.
