gutting precats?

what would be the best/easiest way to gut the precats, and what kind of gains can i expect from this?

Unbolt and drop the downpipe and precat. The bolts are VERY tight, so be prepared to use a lot of WD-40 and lots of muscle. Take a screwdriver and clean all of the **** out till it is just a straight pipe. If you are very careful with the old gaskets, you can reue them! I just did this last weekend, and I have lost a little bottom end torque, but the gain in top end is great! I feel a stronger pull above 4k RPM in 2nd and 3rd gears! Good Luck!!!!!
