Gutting out my s4

So I've decided to just go ahead and gutt out out my s4. I recently did an at home paint job on it and i had various parts of the interior pulled out, for the task, but now im just thinking about gutting the whole thing out. Does anyone know if it gets a lot colder with out the door panels, and carpet in the car. And also does anyone know where I can get those cool shiny diamond metal floor mats???

How cold can it really get in San Diego? If your talking about REALLY gutting the car and removing the dash and all, I wouldnt advise it on a street car. You would lose both heat, air (defog in particular), and somewhat of a cushion on the chance of impact without harnesses.

Terrible Idea. Aside from diamond plate floor mats looking straight out of FNTF, it is just not worth it, unless its a pure track car or something.

i dont know about the cold, but here in PHX it gets NASTY hot. My friends s4 was gutted. I drove it for a couple weeks and the floor boards got real hot. you wouldnt be able to keep your feet on the floor if you were bare foot. The heat from the turbo/motor comes in the cabin and is no bueno.

I did some wieght reduction on my car. removed a bunch of stiff behind the dash, put the dash back in and there were a couple rubber gromets that i didnt put back in. Just that lets heat in. And I can tell exactly where its coming from.

Haha I have a 93 Altima that I gutted a few years ago, (mainly out of bored'em), to see what it was like. And it sucks it doesn't help you out at all and scrapping the sound deadening off was horrible. I removed a total of 200 pounds. It now weighs 2660 with everything out. I wish I had never done it really. I was auto-x it for fun just to get out there and it really didn't make my times any faster. I don't know a person who hasn't made fun of the me or the car for it. Unless you have an insanely fast car and you're in racing events where tenths of seconds really matter it's just a waste of time. Everything is really loud now and smells get through easier as well....

no offense just my .02
