Don't bother, just wait until you have something to replace it with. If you live in an emissions area, you may need to reinstall it later. Gutting any of the cats creates big enough problems as is.

Umm, no.

If you have emmisions testing, the precats will not make any difference. They are to clean up the extra hydrocarbons (unburned fuel) when its cold and extra rich. Its probably gutted itself anyways if you have more than 80,000 miles on the car.

Oh, and run the dog **** out of the car just before the emmisions test. That will give the best results, when the cat is nice and hot.

Take a look in it and if it doesn't look clogged I would leave it be. I gutted mine, but I have no idea when I'll upgrade my exhaust. I also don't like having that extra source of heat right below the turbo.

If you do decide to clean it out DON'T BREATHE ANY OF THE DUST.

well my car has 170000km(106000mi) so i figured it was junk anyways. would there even be and advantage of keeping it. it wouldnt help anyone. i am just more concerned with the turbulence the gutted precat would make.

hey HeffBoost, how did the stoaks fcd work for ya. im gonna build me mine as soon as the parts get here.
