Well I was watching Back to the Future (you know how that goes) and started contemplating a gull wing door conversion for my 2nd Gen RX-7 would it be worth it? How do you think it would look

 

Depends on what you consider "worth it"

Im unaware of any kits like this for FCs, so it would have to be mostly custom and probably a few grand.

Might be cheaper to just sell your car and get a Delorean.

 

It prolly would be cheaper to get a Delorean but a Delorean is not an FC with gull wing conversion doors, this is just an idea not actually something Ive decided on doing yet

Look on Ebay- type in gull wing doors under search.
There is a guy who sells literatature and maybe the hinges or something to do the kit.
There is some fabricating involved, but it's actually pretty cheap!
I like scissor doors WAY better though.

 

now how much could i do one di scissor dorrs...and yes i saw a pic on this forum of where they did those exact gull win g delorean doors.....it was an ol 86 base...just search im sure you will find it

 

The "literature" on eBay are for scissor doors, not gull wing doors.

OMG I checked out the ebay thread from above and it looks friggin' stupid on the Miata. I can only imagine how much more stupid it would look on the FC (without an uber-agressive bodykit)!

If that gul wing one would be black or something it might have a chance at looking decent. But ummm you have to like stand up to reach the door. lol

hmm gull wing would require you to cut into your roof quite a bit and i think you'd need a car with no sunroof..

 

If you go gullwing doors, better not park between two cars... Might be extremely hard to get in or out...
