Guess who just got an AE?
SO.. you actually got that AE!
The compression in the back rotor was NOTHING!
No bounces, no nothing- Even when you were cranking it with the plug out, I could barely hear any air rushing out of the hole!! That's bad compression!
It probably means a few potential things-
All three seals are carbon locked (doubtfull, but possible)
That an apex seal went, and carved it's initials really deeply into the housing- ruining compression for all faces.
Or, it overheated and deformed the housing.
I doubt you will be able to get it to start.
Oh, and get a catback or something- wasn't one exhaust muffler and tip totally different from the other?
As for cleaning it up- The inside did look great, just dirty, glad it came up nice.
The paint no way to cheap out here- Use a strong cleaner on it to get rid of all the old wax and such.
Use a Mothers clay bar ($25 at Can. Tire) to prep the paint, it pulls all the crap out. Even some light polishing compound on any rough spots.
Then use Mothers Sealer and Glaze (step 2 stuff), and finally, Turtles white Color Cure works very well (but seems to attracts dust on my black car)
I think pure, expensive as hell caranuba wax is wayyyy overrated.
After that- it will feel like a new car finish. The clay bar is awesome!.
Good luck!
Oh-
When you pull the engine, if you have any questions, or whatever, just let me know- I've done it too many times...

Very nice.I'm glad to see there are still a few in good condition running around. You'll love the car.these cars really get noticed.I've had mine for about a year and there's no other car out there that I'd trade for it.Good luck with the engine.

ok, I did the ATF trick today, well, sorta
I'm half done.
I pulled the plugs (they were loose!) I guess we forgot to tighten them last time... oh well!)
stuck a funnel down the top plug hole, had my friend pour in ATF while I cranked it over.
stopped, pulled the EGI fuse, and then continued, he didn't like the large amounts of smoke coming at him... hehehehe
after we poured a LOT in, I stopped cranking (it started to spit it back up through the funnel!) and closed up the holes.
I'll let it sit tonight, try and get it to run tomorrow. That should be long enough, right?
As far as all 3 seals being carbon locked goes, yeah, it's unlikely, but this car was driven by a lady that shfited at 2500RPM. EVERY TIME.
this motor has NEVER seen above 3k
so, it's possible that there' a huge amount of carbon in there.
and if I can't get it to run, then yeah, I'll be pulling the motor and rebuilding it (if possible), or perhaps finding a j-spec.

on the exhaust being messed up, I looked, and fixed it.
The mount thingy had just come loose!
30 second fix. Exhaust was done less than 400 MI before the engine quit. Lifetime exhaust from the local muffler guy.
HMM, I wonder if I wreck the exhaust I can get him to change the piping from 2" to 3"
