GTUS vs. GXL suspensions.
from what i heard and read about. the GTUS has the turbo suspensions, but the GXL is a higher model AND it has the switch to change the suspension from normal to sport. do these two cars have the same suspension? and which model should i get? i want the GXL because it has more features but if the GTUS has better suspensions then it can compensate or less features. im comparing the 1989 rx7s btw.

they do not share the same suspension.
The GXL sports softer springs whereas the GTUs shares the TurboII springs.
All this can be found in the sticky "What the FC came with"...
If you're looking for a GTUs, then good luck finding one. they are harder to find these days.

(Note the 88 GTU however should not be considered the same as the strippy base 89-90GTU - the 88 GTU was the GTUs of the the 88 model year).
While the 89-90 GTUs had 16" wheels from the 89-91 turbo, 4 piston front brakes from the GXL/Turbo/Verts/Sport/88GTU, had faster ratio vehicle speed sensing power steering, LSD, alum hood (not that it still was not a pig comparied to even a 88 GTU or 86-87 sport with the extra 150 lbs of all S5 models).
And Jaiyurai the GTUs came with the same soft springs and struts as any other S5 coupe (including Turbos). In 89-91 only the vert came with heavy duty springs. This can be confirmed in any parts manual. Any suspension differences on the GTUs were found only in the marketing guys heads.
And this is all found in the options and standard features thread at the top of this section.

Any of them. They are so old/worn by now the suspension should all be replaced if you are worried about suspension performance...
