They run high 15s. They have 160hp like the regular n/as but have a 4.3 which makes it quicker than regular n/as. They also have power nothing and generally no sunroof.

They do have power steering, though, but no power windows/locks/etc.

The only real "special" thing about a GTUs that you couldn't do with an '89-90 GTU is no sunroof. The rear end gearing is special, though, and would be pricey to install.

I'm looking @ a GTU that DOES have a sunroof. I ran the VIN # and it said that it was a GTU? What is this?

Um, jabbadeznuts, the models "GTU" and "GTUs" are differnt. In 1988, the GTU (the only S4 GTU) had a sunroof, big four piston brakes, the "good" suspension, no power **** cept mirrors and power steering and had the regular 4.1LSD (someone check on that differential number, i always forget)

In 1989 the "GTU" is the base model, while the "GTUs" is the shiner, with all the performance options except for the turbo driveline of course. So, depending on the year, the GTU you are looking at could be the base model, or the higher model. Hope this helps

i got the rear out of a junkyard 90 GTUS for $200 or so. the swap was a pain in the *** but they all are. it doesnt react as quick as as my 4.1 clutch type, but the difference in 3rd gear acceleation is great

No problem man.

Hey RX-7Impreza, when you say it "doesnt react as quick" what do you mean?. Do you mean the LSD itself takes longer to lock up? And do you have that 4.1 still? you wanna sell it? (god help me... LoL )

dude, my car has only failed me once :

1) PD failure.

Other than that, it's either been my fault or me 'trying to fix it when it ain't broke.'

i think i figured it out... that 300zx engine was a ******* beast and you couldnt **** it up if you tried, but the rest of the drivetrain was a piece of ****. now the T2 on the other hand. the engine is real finicky and feels like i could easily do something to hurt it, yet the rest of the drivetrain is hardcore and i cant mess any of it up if i tried. agree with me on that one bill?

Lol, lets see, the 300zx... Wheres the BS meter? I remember you bringing it into my garage misfiring and barely running once, having to change out the exhaust, and driveshaft. Then getting rid of it as the tranny started to die.... no problems my ***.

And besides, i know it was the injectors, but that dosen't mean i can't pick on you for having the faster car...
