This is my Black and White GTUs behind while I was getting ready for Buttonwillow 1 year ago '07
The white one is top secret project so it's covered, ok! lol Just kidding. It needs alot of work but will be tasty when done. Unveiled in 2010!

I just got another white 1990 GTUs to make that 3 for me now!
This one got hit and a buddy sold it to me for almost free.
The frame is straight and I already have another FC/parts car I am using to swap all the suspension members over.Notice the black roof,It used to have an aftermarket sunroof that was cut out and replaced with another doner GTUs roof from my buddy M.C.'s car(black 89 GTUs) he totalled while DUI.
I will keep people posted.

Since only 100 1990 GTUs's were built, it's amazing how many we have here...

My research has found that the only way to really tell if its a GTUs is to know if it came from Mazda with the 4.30 and you can do that by contacting them.

Anyway - mine is a Blaze Red 1990. L0800001.

Junpower, everything done to that FC is creditted to ninjai, as i do not own the car yet. But i will be purchasing it the 28th of February.

My goals are fairly moderate for the first year of ownership.

Fix the dent, fix the rust, and get a vinyl wrap "paint job". I generally just want to clean the car up and DD it through the summer.

Some other little things are to get the VDI actuator electronically controlled for the 5th/6th ports, as the car does not have the airpump.

Install a radio and some normal speakers LOL, throw some good racing seats in, install an SAFCII and wideband to lean it out a little over stock.

Long term plans are another rebuild, large streetport, ITB setup, shooting for over 200whp.

zerox7,

I didn't find this one, it found me =)

SleepeR1st ,

Sounds like a good plan, keeping it mild.

Here more photos of me getting the *Salvage GTUs* ready for repair to the suspension and body comes after this car gets rolling, It dosen't start anymore!?? Guess i'll figure it out after i get it rolling,
So as I guessed it's pretty minor.
Drivers side,
Bent strut and top mount ripped out, tie rods straight,Lower controll arm straight, end link for sways good.
Passenger side,
Broken Hub,Bent tie rod, controll arm straight, strut straight but will replace since the other side is whack.

Stripped rear interior.

Removing Dr side fender.

DR side ready for repairs.

PS side damage.

Bent DR side strut.

Door jam damage.

I have a question for my fellow GTUs owners... What master cylinder do our cars use? Do we use a s5 n/a non abs master cylinder or do we use a s5 turbo non abs master cylinder. I ask this because our cars come with 4 piston calipers as do the turbo's but our cars are n/a. I called mazdatrix and they told me to use the n'a one, other forum members said its a turbo one. What do you guys think? Has anyone had to replace thiers? Btw the bores on the two master cylinders are slightly different, the turbo one has a larger bore. thanks in advance,

Izzy
