gtus is leaking around oil filter

gtus is leaking around oil filter

i tighten up the oil filter but it still seem to be leaking right around the filter has this happen to any one else

You may have to take off the filter and make sure that it wasnt double-gasketed..if the gasket from the old filter stayed on there, you would have two and it wont seal.

The oil pedestal O-rings are probably leaking if it is coming out from under the filter.

those lil o-ringd went out on mine to.. its a easy fix .took me about 20 mins. i got mine from the dealership for about 3 bucks each. ull need 2. have fun

remove oil filter
remove two nuts from bottom of pedestal
remove pedestal
replace orings - use a bit of hylomer to hold in place
go back up the list in reverse order

You'll find the Bolt facing the Passengerside to be abit more difficult. Remove the Oil Filter before hitting It with a 10mm Wrench.

yeah just did this I found that i couldn't get a 10mm rachet in there so I used an open end ratched wrench and it worked perfect.
