GTUs

Did anyone see the GTUs on ebay. I'm glad to see that out of the 100 that were made some people kept them stock and in great condition. Check it out if you have not seen it.

WOW holy S**t!!! $12k for that car. Dude must be smoking some serious crack. Kevin got his with less miles from the original owner for cheaper. I would love to have a 90' back GTUs (the rarest of the rare) but not for that much money.

Buy it now price is $11,995

>It is the lightest of all the second generation rx-7's
Not even close to true, even for S5's.

>also the fastest naturally aspirated rx-7 from the >factory ever made.
Again, not correct.

>The car also features the bulletproof Turbo II >transmission
Actually, its an N/A tranny with a shorter 5th gear.

>When you pop the rear hatch it automatically rises for >you just like they do when they are new. I have never >come across a second gen that didn't have worn out >shocks for the rear hatch. Even the power antenna >works. I don't ever recall coming across a second gen >where the power antenna was not broken.
Must not have seen very many second gens.
PLENTY of second gens are not broken.

Overall, the ad is not bad, but its not completely true.

Yep 12k and did you read the info on it "bullet proof TII transmission" Well it did not come with one so either A: he has no idea what he is talking about or B: he put one in which means that it is not 100% stock

- Dana "always finding flaws"

P.S. Super duper high blue book I just looked up is $4,120.00

No matter how nice it would be to a have a gtus he must think he has gold. But you know he has to try to make up things so he can get 12k for it.

what's with those ugly seats? they don't look like the black seats in my 89 GTU. they look more like what i've seen in an S4.

the front lip also looks to be of the regular NA kind, not the TII kind i thought they are supposed to have.

My friend picked up a broke down GTU for $300. We found out thogh that it wasnt really. The guy who sold it to him didnt know anything about rx7s. He said he blew a piston. The car had been sitting out in front of his house for years.

Not that I would ever pay the 12K(one of my friends wrote "my" other post)for a GTUs. Don't get me wrong....they are good cars and all....but 12K for an NA FC....nah. If you think about the 12K IS a good deal in the sense(THE ONE AND ONLY SENSE....don't jump on for saying this)....there was an 88 GXL....bone stock. It had been repainted. That's it. It had about 80K on the odometer. It went for $12,xxx. Now....tell how fuct up that is!!!!

I would rather put that money for and FD or at least a down for an rx-8, unless I was building a 7 collection.

S5 GS. It was a few lbs lighter; a complete base model car. Only power option was P/S. Only available in Canada.

No sunroof, no mouse belts, no spoiler, no sunroof, no a/c.

I dunno about the fastest...

I caught the bullshit about the Turbo 2 transmission as well. Nice touch. I E-Mailed him about that too. I want to know what is going on.

It was my understanding that the Canadian S5 GS is almost the same thing as the USA spec GTUs, except for the wheels and spoiler (which all USA spec FC's got).

And the spoiler lowers the Cd, making the car faster at top end.
