checked vin and gtu/glx was stated to be the model. not sure what gtu/glx means? I know the gtu but not the glx. I checked the faq thread but wasn't able to find the answer. any help will be appreciated.

no it says gtu/glx. I thought the same thing too when I saw the glx.

 

thats dumb this is not the first time i have heard someone talk about a Glx...... china must have made some knock offs. like i said i have heard of this before how did you check the vin. made somone at DOT made a boo boo

 

what would this mean that the car is half gtu and half glx or if it was a mistake that it is half gxl?

1990 car has gtus badge and doesn't have a rear wiper. I'm guessing this would mean its a gtus...right? but the info that I got in the vin check is different, which has me worried.

 

maybe the "/glx" is the notation used for the GTUs to destinguish it from the GTU? Just a thought.

No, that has nothing to do with the GTUs. If you have a GTUs it will have the following:

no rear wiper
aluminum hood
sticker in door jam that says "205/55/R16"
manual windows
no sunroof


I think theres a few more, but I forget them right off hand. Dont expect the VIN to tell you what trim package it is. I went to mazda and asked them to look it up and give me some more information on it and they couldnt because they suck with keeping records.

it's probably a GTU...I think the GLX designation is from teh canada
