Gtu

Someone clear this up for me. GTU/GTUs.....what is the difference?

I get it, the GTUs was the hot one, few made, etc..........

I always thought GTUs was just a plural form of GTU.....but I guess GTUs is its own creature....

Point is, how do I tell from the exterior if its the rare model or the non rare model?

The fender Decal would have an "S" I presume? IF it just says GTU, then its garden variety?

the GTUs has no sunroof, turbo seats, turbo wheels (16"), manual windows, the 4 piston calipers. it probably should have an AL hood, and its got a shorter rear diff and 5th gear.

the GTU, is just the base model, so while the sunroof is optional, most have it. it will be on 15" wheels, and should have the single piston brakes. the rear wing is optional, but most have it. i think power windows are optional too. i would expect a steel hood, but AL is possible.

Ive seen sentences like:
"The GTUs is rare"
"The GTU's are a dime a dozen"
and the second sentence, when one omits the apostrophe gets really muddy.
heh heh.....
I have an FB now. A friend of mine has a GTU (at least)....could get it cheap but its been sitting for like 10 years. (generally means the engine is toast) Not sure if I want another headache or not, it would mean getting rid of my FB which is just now getting to the point where i can enjoy it. Money and space are hard to come by for me.

If this turns out to be the rare model I think I will get it in any case.

Thanks!
