GT series turbo

Guys I was going with a .60 a/r 1.15 a/r p trim turbo for my vert project. I was doing some checking around and found a GT series turbo for a fairly good price. What would the down side of this turbo be matched with a large street ported 13bt?

It's not really a GT series turbo. Otherwise it'd say Garrett all over it. It's not a BB turbo at all.

The specs don't seem too shabby, can't say I know much about this one.

The real GT 35s and 40s are pretty pricey to your average consumer...like (guesstimate) ~15-1700.

Brazil?

This was in their "tech" section...
BENEFITS OBTAINED WITH A TURBOCHARGER

More Power
Adding more quantity of air in the cilynder, the engine can burn a bigger volume of fuel automatically and it has an increase of power, which changes around + or - 20%.

Less Fuel Comsumption
The fuel quantity consumed by a turbo engine is around 10% less than a naturally aspired.

Smoke Elimination
A turbo engine is basically a clean engine. Disposing a bigger volume of air in the cilynder, assures a perfect burning of exhaust gas, avoiding the fuel waste and eliminating the smoke.
A lot of that info is just wrong - turbo engines actually consume 10% MORE fuel due to the turbo being a restrictor.

I would stay away from these guys, as they probably are trying to cash in on the big turbo fad in the US and producing cheaper products through cheaper labor...which usually mean lesser quality - that's scary when trying to purchase a turbo.

Hey, if they can't spell "MAYOR" right on their eBay listing...

yeah thier is a ton of turbo shops opening up in Miami. $1700 is not bad for a real GT series turbo I guess. I will have to just go with my original plan for my to4b with a haltech. I would drop the big bucks for the turbo but I need a paint job bad. I have dropped closed to 5k on this car in 2 weeks.
