grr, sunroof is stuck
my blasted sunroof in my 87 TII is stuck, i can hear the motor turn just a bit either direction but then it jams up. I tried pushin up on the roof but to no avail. if anyone has had this happen i would be EXTREMELY greatfull if someone could tell me a quick fix TX is really hot w/ only 1 window (waiting for master window switch to come on, the driver's down position is busted so i cant roll it down)
anyways. thanks in advance all

The motor is probably dying...
I have same problem with the roof on my Probe. Sometimes if you just leave it for a while and then try helping it shut (or open, I suppose) with your hand, that may work.
Otherwise, I'm not sure how to get it shut. The users manual to my car says that there is some emergency crank that should be in the glovebox, but alas, I'm the 2nd owner of this car and it's not in there.

My sunroof on my 86 GXL did the same thing. Sometimes if I just played with the controls a little it would loosen and close. I eventually ended up cleaning out the tracks that the sunroof runs on. They were absolutely filthy. After I cleaned them I just put some graphite powder in to lubricate it and that helped a lot. If that doesn't work you can crank it open or closed. If you look on the headliner there is a small plug right in the center of the whole headliner. Pop that out and it lets you get to the motor and crank it open or closed. Hope this helps.
