ground wire question

ground wire question

enyone know what does the ground wire that is on da big bolt that hold down the starter is for???
its a pretty big ground wire...
enyone know wut it is for??
iknow i its a ground but for what???

Uh, it's the main engine ground. The car won't start without it.

oh **** that explains somethings
car does start but dies under 4000

I'm surprised it starts at all. If the main ground is disconnected, your whole charging system & the starter are running through a 14 gauge ground on the top of the transmission housing. Not good.

yea cuz i hade it pined between a hose and the fire wall cuzi did not know wehre it when
so hopefully that solves some of my porblems

It goes without saying that all this information is in the FSM.

Now, that ground is the main battery ground to the starter. It's the main engine ground and should be connected.
