Just search grip force clutch quality on google..

I did just now, i think 75% negative feedback.
Most people regret the purchase and wished they would have put down some more for something decent like exedy or act

It seems that the Grip Force clutches are just an OE replacement. So, better than OEM?... Probably not. You can purchase an Exedy OEM replacement for anywhere from $30-$50 more.

As cheap as they are ($101.99 and less) you can buy one, test it out, and write a review for us. I've read good and bad reviews about them on google...(More bad than good.) But none for the FC. And especially no follow-up reviews. :-/

I'm not personally interested in them. But this could be beneficial to other people that are looking for a cheaper clutch solution.

Yeah, I have looked up online and it has taken me to other forum postings about the clutch. some good some bad. But they are almost Honda reviews ( EwwwW). I am still thinking if I should get it or not. The clutch I have right now is working fine, but its been about 5years since I last changed it and I don't know the brand that is in their currently.

age doesnt mean anything for a clutch..

My 929 is still running the original clutch and now after 36years it is finally coming to its end. If it doesn't slip, then it's just fine

Mine hasn't been gripping as hard as it used to, sure it's not slippin but it just feels like it is giving out slowly. And I am going to be saving up for Action Clutch.

A clutch by any other name...

It's hard to judge clutch quality from internet reviews, especially on imports. Why? There are so many clutches that are abused by inexperienced clutchers and wannabe boyracers. They burn out the oem clutch and buy a new (insert brand here) clutch. Next they burn out the new clutch. What follows next is scathing review on the nearest internet board.

I bought a lightly used Centerforce Dual friction clutch for my N/A vert from another member on this board. You will not find a more widely despised clutch brand on this RX7 forum than the Centerforce DF. I researched the brand from other platforms-V8 primarily -where the Centerforce DF has a fine reputation. What a *great* clutch for my N/A! Light pedal, great feel. It makes the car feel more expensive. Can it hold 392 Hp? Who cares.

If you are N/A and you drive a clutch with skill, you will be fine with the Grip Force.

If you are not skilled or you *intend* to abuse the clutch with hard launches etc, you probably won't be happy with the Grip Force.

Thanks for the info! I will diff keep that in mind. And I looked up grip force on the other forums and about 70% say it was a good clutch. I am still torn but I think I am going to save up a bit more for an Action Clutch.

Why? You've already stated that your current clutch is working fine.

The pilot barrings are making noise. that is the only issue I am having.Grip wise it feels fine. And since I will be taking off the trans and under the car already, might as well just swap out the clutch entirely.

To answer your first question, its hard to judge because everyone has different opinions for the exact same thing. I sold a Centerforce DF that was in my car, not because it was a bad clutch, but because it had a light pedal that I COULD NOT STAND. Interestingly we both could use the clutch just fine but had very different opinions of the same feature.

Take the reviews you read with a grain of salt, you should be going the opposite way as well. What do I want/need in a clutch and will my selection meet it?

^ will do. What I want is a hard pedal. For my taste I don't like the soft pedals on my fc. Unless its on my MX-5 then a soft pedal is nice.
