Well for all of you that have been thinking about buying a HKS, Greddy or Apexi turbo beware!!

Last night on my way back from Winterpark Ski resort, my friends TD06-SH 20G blew a positive seal with 4K on it. Today we took it to TEC (Turbo Engineering Corp) here in golden colorado, they are one of the biggest turbo rebuilders in the country with tie's with Mitsu Japan.

What we really found out is that all HKS,Greddy or Apexi turbo can't be fixed! The center sections of the turbo are for sale to greddy only! You can't even by the same compressor or turbin wheels for a diffrent housing, So back to T3\T4 Garrett or Turbonetics.

So all in all if you are going to dish out $1600 for a turbo and downpipe, Don't be pissed when it turns into a coffie table center peace.

 

i dont know jack about turbos but i thought t3/t4 garrett was a small turbo?

 

By buddy's car is a four banger, 3SGTE toyota MR-2 motor in there all-track celica

 

does your buddy want to sell his blown TD06 turbo? If so, how much?
