Greddy Turbo Timer won't work

So, I hooked up the Greddy TT with the adapter harness for the FC just like the Greddy tech pages show. The black wire is grounded to a good ground.

No matter which way I plug it in to the ignition harness, it will not count down.
The car shuts off when I turn the key off.

Plus I tried the "line switch" listed in the manual, it will not go back to Gl and is always on ACC.

I can turn off the key and now the unit will stay on after I swapped the plugs around on the ignition harness, but it will still shut off the car.

Any idea's?

Searching did not help at all, so please no "search" replies.

Thanks

i had similar problems a few years back when i put one in. my fix was the harness just not being plugged in right to the ignition.

You probably missed a few combinations if you're sure you're wiring is correct.

Open up the TT case and see if there are any fried electronics inside, specifically look for a small fried diode. I had a similar problem with my Greddy TT and I found a fried diode inside of it.

Thanks for the help

I'll try some more plug combinations later tonight for the harness as well as checking out the internals of the TT.

Were you able to replace the fried diode inside of the TT, or did you have to buy a whole nother unit?
If you were able to replace it, do you by chance remember it's part number?

I'm assuming diodes are all the same other than an LED ( Light Emitting Diode, before somebody says an LED is not a diode) of course haha. Just a size difference, but there's some crazy stuff out there so I figured I would ask.

helps cool the negine down too not just the turbo

ill spare the argument ... but nevertheless, I know the harness can easily be mistaken and pluged in the wrong way since htey look identical.

Did you hook up the ebrake wire?

depends on user for useful / useless. i mainly use mine now for generic voltage input. Not as accurate , but not trying to put up more gauges either. other than that, the max rev outputs nice when people borrow your car and you tell them dont rev my **** plz. reset your max rev # and see where it comes up to after, then start the bizatch slappin.

No, and I wasn't able to tell what size the original diode was. They are not all the same, not by a long shot. I think they're rated by power handling and maybe one or two other things, but regardless I couldn't even tell which direction it was supposed to allow current. I bought another unit and I don't think I've used it yet.

No luck with plugging it in either way.
I even hooked up the e-brake wire which is not mandatory and still nothing.

Im going to give up on it for now, as it's not as important as figuring out what's wrong with my timing...
I dont mind waiting an extra 1-3 minutes sitting in the car.

Thanks for the help anyways though

Now on to start a new thread about my timing...
