Greddy E-Manage Feedback

ok - first off, yes standalone is a better option - save it, I don't wanna hear it, this is for my street car and I don't feel like using my track project's E6X.

OK, heres the deal - a good friend of mine is purchasing some parts from me and he is thinking that he'd give me the difference between the cost of the manage off for the parts.....basically I can get the whole shebang for 400bucks cdn brand spanking new.

thats a hell of a deal

So, has anyone here used the new E-manage on their FC? - I searched and the threads I found all turn into people telling people to use a megasqurit

Im not familiar with the E-manage but do know I can control ignition as well as fuel which bumps it up atop the SAFC....

I will be installing it in an 87 TII with a TO4-S, FMIC, stock ports on the motor, full exhaust and intake.

Anyone who has used it or had experience with it (the NEW emanage) please post..........good or bad.

edit:I will also post this in the engine managment forum, oops - hehe

There is a guy on the Yahoo groups who has installed it and has positive feedback on it so far. He has not taken it to be tuned, but seems to have all the functions working. Go there, check it out.

****thread jacker alert, thread jacker alert***** get your own thread and leave this one alone!

Anyways if you search the engine management sub forum you should be able to find links to the guys yahoo groups. Good luck! I heard the new one can be 'auto tuned' with an auto tuner device and also removes the need for the afm. pretty neat.

My thread about the install at TeamFC3S.org

It should be pretty helpful, I've got the wiring diagrams and such on there. I do not have the ignition harness yet, so I don't quite know how that feature is. I will say that with the support tool on a laptop it is quite easy to work. I just added a bit of fuel at the injector staging point and it seems to be a bit smoother there now. I'm going to leave the real tuning to a professional once I get the turbo on, because I have no idea what I am doing!!

IMO, the E-manage is quite a bit better than the SAFC since it can do a lot more, plus you can tune it with a laptop and datalog. The SAFC does have one advantage though, it has a nice pretty pretty screen. However, if you get the E-01 it can display the data on it.

I have an e-manage in my Turbo+N/A and it works fine (all harnesses installed w/ the ghetto E-manage gold upgrade). I assume you mean the emanage ultimate? I have not had any experience with that, but I would assume it works in a similar manner. As it was said already it can adjust ignition and injector duty cycle, but these are only a +/- off the base settings of the car.

the new "e-manage ultimate" actually provides more features than some standalones. sure, it's still a piggyback but is great value if you get it for a good price.

One last question to those running the Emanage:

Do I need to use the corresponding impedance of injector(low in my case, S4...) or does the Emanage require just high or just low?

If you are going to use the additional injection feature, it doesn't matter which injectors you have. All it is doing is supplying additional ground to the existing injectors to legthen the pulse width. If you want it to control additional injectors, then it is slightly more complex. The injectors must look like high impedence to it either by the injectors themselves or by way of resistor, and have their own fused power source.
