Yeah, I knocked off 40lbs even when I ditched the stock seats In favour of my Sparco Sprints. I was at a point of everything being stripped off my car, minus the Interior. I've even removed all the towing hooks (which by the way amount to a little under 10lbs, If I remember correctly). It's okay, you could tow from the Control/Trailing Arms.
It was with the swapping of the seats, I seemed to notice that my car had abit more pick up. It was almost like I added another performance part.Is the FD Alternator In there?

hey there is no shame in "ghetto" rigging i admire crispy's ingenuity and creativity. he proves that you dont have to spend $$$ to make your ar better. in fact id rather take his aproach cus then you are getting the car exactly the way you want it instead of the way some aftermarket manufacture wanted it to be.

Wow!! What a write-up! Great Job.
It probably took just as long to put this web site together as it did to do all of that work to the car.

Most of these parts put of the car were manufactured. Corksport made a killing out of him. The results were excellent, but certainly not ghetto.

on the site he jokes on the car "rusty", "hooptie",
granted he made the car 1000 times better but those terms do evoke a certain lack of polish and rather a strightforwardness i was trying to evoke by reiterating the "ghetto" phrase.
why do you have to nyt pick?
this doesnt have to disolve into a batlle over symantics
ive already said a dozen times i LIKE what he did.

LOL. You guys crack me up. Want to see ghetto take a look at my FD. 
As for "Rusty," as I said at the beginning of the writeup this car was going to be done for as little cost as possible *without* sacrificing any significant performance (note use of *new* Koni's which aren't exactly cheap) but I'm buying used and fabbing my own stuff wherever possible. And before any one says I should have used Tien or any such other high end coil over setup...two words - NOT LEGAL!
As for the rest of the car, all I can say is so far everything I've done WORKS (with one exception some alternator issues but that will be resolved)
As for being ghetto, well yes you might consider it "ghetto" (I sorta do also) but if you've ever been to an SCCA IT race 90% of the cars are held together with duct tape and chicken wire. But on a track they'd woop practically ANY street car. Sure there are a few sponsored cars that can run upwards of $30k...just not mine
The car is being built to RACE. I have registration for street driving for 2 years (and why I wanted to mount the FD wheels, so I could mount the race tires - given to me free - on the OE rims) and once the registration expires the car will be track/race only. It has been a fun project so far and I've learnt a lot and I'm sure I have much more to learn. And just to note that if anyone asks why I haven't done this or that, well maybe I just haven't gotten to it yet. Being married with 3 kids under the age of 7 doesn't exactly lend to much "free" time
