Great, now I need a rebuild!!
I have been trying to get my FC going on boost since August. I traded my dirt bike for a JDM 13bt which, I was told, was pulled from a wrecked car, but ran very strong while in the car. I couldn't get this thing started when I first completed the swap. First I had a fuel delivery problem, fixed that. Then, I had a spark problem, 3 ecu's later, fixed that. Still nothing...wtf. Oh, maybe an empty gas tank is the culpret. Okay, a few gallons of premium in the tank, now we crank again. CRANK CRANK CRANK, PUUTT PUUTT, black smoke. After cranking somemore and not getting anymore puuts, we check compression, almost nothing on the front rotar. WTF!!!!!! I have spent so much time and effort, now I find out it needs to be rebuilt. Man, thank God I love my car soooo much, or I would just set it on fire and walk away.
before you junk it put atf in it the apex seals might be stuck. before you rebuild try that and rev it to 4 and see if they unstick but if its blown already then you might hurt the rotor but there is a chance that your ok.
well, before I tried to fire it up, I did that. I turned the engine from the e-shaft to move the atf around and the shaft got 'caught up' a little. I put some force on the bar and it broke free, and I heard a crunch. Not good. I think that was the seal spring or seal itself.

it probably did come from a wrecked card, but you'll never know how long it's been sitting before it got the US and how long it sat on the docs, etc...It might have wrecked in 1992 for all you know!

I meant, the person who had it before me (he lives about 30min from me) crashed his car with this engine in it about a year ago.
I think I do want to pull start it before I tear it back out.

Another reason why I try to disuade anyone from buying an unknown condition engine and just throwing it in a car.
Of course for theose about to follow. There are opposite example of pristine engines.
Why gamble though?
