Gotta stop the leaks!

My 88 vert 5spd is leaking from the lower power steering hose in spurts if you turn the wheel. It is also dripping from the oil cooler line. (see attached photos)

I looked up mazdatrix for the power steering hose and I think I found the set for $257!!!
The power steering hose is leaking from where the hose attaches to the crimp. Can that crimp be snugged down some more?

I haven't located a source for the oil cooler line yet, but I can only imagine what the piper's payment will be. Does the hose typically need to be replaced or is it a washer and nut that need to be replaced and snugged down? It looks from the photo that there are two copper washers on either side of the hose.

hose shop is a good idea. I do recommend just replacing them. One less thing to worry about.

About those oil cooler lines. MAZDATRIX does have a set that I put in my ride. They've been great. Do be carefull with the torque on those banjo fittings into the oil cooler. That oil cooler is alluminum and will crack easilly. You won't even see the crack and it will leak.

I did a temporary fix on the power steering leek. I took off the belt to the pump! It's a little difficult to turn at slow speeds, but it works. I'll pop off the hose and take it to a hydrolic shop in a week.

Is there any risk of damaging anything running it with out the ps?

The lower hose (I wrapped it in radiator hose tape to stop it from oozing) is the one that is leaking. The oil cooler hose is leaking as well. After fixing fixing both, I will not be leaving any spots on the garage floor.

What did you pay for the oil cooler lines? I'm going to try and take the oil cooler lines to the hydrolic shop as well.

I'll let you know how it goes (could be a week...)
