Thumbs up got my S5 turbo back from BNR!! awesome! pics inside!!!!

Guys, just wanted to share some pics with you! I have got back my S5 turbo from Bryan this week and it's sweet! It's a stage II with T60 compressor, 360deg bearings and adjustable wastegate actuator.

It just looks like new!!

Now after worshipping the clean look of it, let me bring in some thoughts: I'm going to run it with rebuilt and ported engine, 3" exhaust, FMIC, FCD, Walbro, SAFCII, AEM a/r gauge, ...! Aiming for some 15-18psi! What do you think, are the 1000cc secondaries sufficient, or should i go with the 1600cc?? These two choices of injectors are the only ones i have for my S5 TII.

please don't start a discussion wether to go standalone or not, just think yourself in my setup! Are the 1600cc's too large for the air the stageII provides??

Chris

if you plan on running it to 18psi, put in the 1600's...... better to have too much fuel than not enough...just get the safc-2 dialed in w/ the 1600's and youll be fine....

i have 1680 secondaries on my bnr stage 4 and their more than enough. so with the stage 2 you should be good with 1000. if you plan to go bigger latter you will have to get bigger injectors. and why are those the only choices you have? marrens work great on the stock fuel rail. and they have all different sizes and impedenance doesnt matter, because you can always run resistors. also i would run a parallel fuel setup as well works great.

It would be risky running that much boost without having some way to pull timing... I'm running a similar turbo with similar mods, but I've got an R-Tek 1.7 for the timing.

I would consider running less boost to be safe, until you can upgrade your ECU.

he does great work, although i haven't tested it yet! but i'm damn sure it's going to rule! Can't wait boostin' it

that setup was 650$!

i will try to take a pic of the wastegate behind the flapper, but as the finish of the surface is so clean, it is difficult to see what's happened to the wastegate ports. think they are larger! the compressor housing is huge though, think it'll flow some air...

so the majority recommends 1600cc's? just didn't succeed in finding something in between (1300) for a reasonable price!

is there no way of retarding the timing without going standalone?

You could move the cas around im sure, but that will retard timing across the board.

$600 Zeal MS PnP + tune < New engine.......

again, they don't make it for the s5 yet. you could make your own if you were handy though.

i've gotta find out how this is going to work for you. i'v wanted the stage II and i'll have the same mods as you. i only plan on running around ~13lbs though and i'm only wanting to go 720cc secondaries. seeing those pics of that turbo definitely made up my mind about getting one. good **** man... and good luck

Bryan said the stage II would be the best compromise between a very responsive turbo (no lag, virtually as the stocker) and a big airflow in the higher rpms! with that size of compressor, i do can imagine...

i was aiming for 15psi (1bar) 'cause most of the time i had that boost setup or even slightly more and it did perfectly! i think the engine can easily handle up to 18psi with the right fuel management. and after rebuild it will be even stronger due to 2-piece apex!

thanks man! i love the turbo II verts... power and sound of the rotary combined with sweet topless driving
will post some more pics later
