jesus christ, you guys need new agents. I've owned all from Porsche to station wagon, and pay $19/month liability per vehicle, regardless.

I am not a ricer. I am black and love everything JDM if I could I would buy all my parts to come for my car from Japanese companies, but I can't. But I will never ever ruin a nice car by being a cheap ***.

That's probably about what I'd pay monthly for liability, if I had not been a stupid teenager with a sports car.

I'm a little wiser now. Life is a lot more expensive now too.

Yeah, I got lucky on that one. 18 y.o. with a speeding ticket and a limited edition turbo car...... But fortunately State Farm only has policies for RX-7s in general.

I think you are confused man. Maybe $1000 every 6 months, but there is no way in hell you pay $1k a month unless you've been convicted of 5 hit and runs and maiming a crowd with a school bus.

I didn't say comprehensive insurance, I said LIABILITY. I realize if you drive like a jackass and get tickets your rate will increase, that is common sense. However, your liability rate does not ever change unless you get tickets, or are involved in accidents, etc. At least to my knowledge. I was also told this by my insurance agent. (Allstate)

I pay $90 LIABILITY coverage on my TII, and paid the same on my N/A, as well as a 00 cavalier z24, a 00 Eclipse GT, and a slew of other vehicles. Call Allstate and ask. My agent told me my Liability rate would NEVER increase as long as I didn't get into any accidents, DUI's, tickets, etc.

However, the drawback is that liabiity doesn't cover your car's ***. So if you wreck it, your paying to fix it.

Here's another pretty neat trick. Someone hits you and you make a claim. The insurance assessor comes to look at the damage, and sees that it is turbo'd, even though the form he has with your policy details says it's not. He realises you knowingly lied to the insurance company, so your claim is rejected and your policy immediately cancelled. The insurance company then puts you on an insurance blacklist, so no other insurance company will insure you ever again! Think I'm being over-dramatic? I'm not, this happens all the time. You may want to reconsider getting tricky with insurance companies. You need them a lot more than they need you.

That is not discrimination, ageism or racism, it's just sensible business practice and it's a bit naive to think otherwise. In any business if you have statistical evidence of risk you have to take steps to protect yourself from that risk. You've just stated that they have this evidence, yet you expect them to ignore it?

Despite never having caused an accident, I pay above-average insurance rates because there is statistical evidence that drivers of sports cars make more claims than drivers of more mundane vehicles. Every single person on this forum suffers the same "discrimination". I don't like particularly this, since I'm effectively paying the idiocy for others, but I don't get all upset about it and start throwing around emotive and inaccurate accusations.

My insurance company doesn't care if it's turbo or not, all comes up the same.

Extreme coilovers can drop the car 2" but you wouldn't wanna drive the car with the front lowered 2", it wouldn't work. The rear can go with a 2" drop and be fine as long as you even the front out with it so it doesn't look retarded.

What do you mean by best exhaust? Best performance? If you're talking looks well then that's completely up to you.

So do, some don't. But they all get pretty pissed if you lie to them.

Not true bro, at least not here in the US. As long as the car was originally non-turbo and the VIN reflects that, then the turbo is just considered a mod, but the car is still considered a non-turbo by the insurance comany. Now if you make a claim and the engine needs replacing, they aren't going to put a turbo engine in there, but they will replace it with the original non-turbo engine that the car came with.

So you think hiding major performance-enhancing mods from your insurance compay is a good idea? And lying to them is still okay? Geez, were you born yesterday?

Why is it that you can't be wrong? No offense meant man...I was pretty polite about my post. So you're going to come back at me and be disrespectful because you feel that you were corrected? I KNOW the insurance policies...I've been through tons of insurance research. Mods mean nothing to most insurance companies over here. They don't even ask. I've been with several insurance companies and have never ONCE been asked about any mods. They ask for the VIN, look it up, and go by what the car is listed as. If you want to add EXTRA insurance for valuable things that you've added to the car, its an option. Not including those things in the protection is not considered lying to the insurance company. Do me a favor next time and at least give me the respect I gave you.

redrx7... maybe you should worry about reliability issues/rebuilding with your 200 dollar car rather than ricey springs and a loud exhaust. i got my 7 for free with a blown coolant seal and i've been lucky just putting under 2k into it rebuilding it.

Okay, sorry about being so snippy, it wasn't really called for. I find it hard to believe you can for example spend several times the car's value on mods and the insurance company doesn't care. Anything that increases the car's chance of getting stolen or broken into is looked on fairly dimly by insurance companies, and they will want to protect themselves from that extra risk you've introduced. Most companies here let you get away with a few things, but if you make a claim for anything that may have been caused or affected by undeclared mods you can end up uninsured, or at the very least with a declined claim on your insurance recored, another thing that can follow you around for years.

But that isn't what's important. My point from the beginning is that this guy has admitted to (even bragged about) deliberately lying to his insurance company. Even if telling them it's turbo'd would've had no effect on the policy, telling them it's not turbo'd is acting fraudulently. If you tell them one lie and they find out, they have every reason to assume you've probably told them others. In my experience people who do that usually have little understanding of the huge risk they're taking. Getting a policy cancelled under those circumstances can affect your ability to get any insurance for many, many years afterwards.

NO, innocent until proven guilty, insurance companies are WRONG.

Discrimination is not based solely on race, gender, or age. Discrimination is based on ANY subject class! Did you know that speed limits are discriminatory? It's true! Speed limits discriminate against the people that want to drive faster than that. That's just an example, anything and everything can be discriminatory.

As far as you paying $8000 a year, wtf is wrong with your driving record or your families? Because that is impossible it seems like unless something else is really wrong. I bought my FC when I was 18 with 3 tickets and an accident on my record with full coverage and it was about $2500 a year.

Come April all my tickets and accident are off my record completely, and after taking a Law class with a teacher that loved (sarcasm) insurance companies taught us how to rework our policies and be smarter about it. I will be paying under $1000 a year for my FC come April.

Something really doesn't seem right with your plan, at all. Even if you do live in New York, but I still think LA would be worse.

You can't be serious. Go back and read what I wrote to 1987RX7Guy. That's how things work here in the real world.

I have been looking on www.CorkSport.com and I like their Power Series Exhaust.

Prices

CorkSport Power Series Cat Back Exhaust (Titanium) $489

I also plan on getting a CorkSport Downpipe, Mid-Pipe and Silencer if I get the CorkSport.

Downpipe is $169 80mm

Mid-Pipe is $79 80mm

and Silencer $23.

Or I could just buy all of that for 200 cheaper in a bundle pack I just noticed they had. For $518 instead of $760 bought seperately.

Come on need help. On mods. Not this ongoing argument on insurance. I'll worry about that later.
