Got motor/trans - want different home
Hi all. I'm a new user and hope to be active in the forum.
I have a fresh motor and decent 5spd in my '86 GXL which needs paint and some body work and new dr. seat leather. The idea is to stick with the 2nd gen for a good long time as a nice driver with some performance and aesthetic zing. I'd like to either refresh my car and possibly enhance for speed and handling and looks. Or I'm thinking about getting a convertible, maybe with a blown motor to migrate my stuff into. I get confused about what vehicles might be easiest for the swap and what FC's are enhanced chassis/body/int etc. Also, I don't know the terminology of the species: what is series 4, 5 ...?
Is there a good replacement leather seat cover available?
Is my auto adjusting suspension any good for enhancement. The new struts are very pricey!
Anybody willing to fill me in on this stuff?
