the 20" Valeo Ultimate Wiper Blade(EA) at the bottom SEEMS like a really good idea but it just looks so damn cheap.

Some advice for anyone reading; don't just replace the rubber blade, replace the whole upper arm (the bit that holds the blade) like the ones in the link posted. All the pivots get worn with age and got allow proper contact with the windscreen. I did this after numerous ineffective blade replacements, and the different was huge.

i work in an autoparts store so i sell wiper blades all day long. The best ones out there in my opnion are the Bosch ICON blades they sort of look like the ones in the original posters link. They have an airfoil built into them that hold them on the windshield very well. They are also a slightly harder rubber that work well on windshilds that are aged a little and are sandblatsted from years of use.
And as stated above replace the whole blade not just the refill part. The blades will lose the springeness (is that even a word) and dont work worth a damn even with a new refill in them
The Trico Teflon blades are good if you never encounter ice. But the first time you drag them accross an iced up windshield or even a very dirty windshild the teflon tears off and they are usless.
just my 2cents

The arm is the piece that's attached to the body on one end and the replacement blade on the other? Where would you get such a replacement?
btw, I use Motomaster reflex, they're good for one season, and I love the hinge-free design. You just have to replace them as their tension tends to wear off.

Gotta chime in. Best blades on the market are Silblades (5 year gurantee) in my opinion. We have them on all 4 of our Grand Cherokees and my daughter's Maxima. Never tried them on our '89 TII we purchased new, as it still has the original wipers front and rear.
They are a little costly, but well worth the expense.

That is so not true. I work at a parts store for over 6 years and never had that occur. If somwone is stupid enough to use the wipers when they are coated with ice than they deserve to have them fall apart. But like I said, never seen it or had it happen in the 4 years I have been using them.
Icon is a waste of money and the blade is ginormous and awkward looking.
Trying to get a SPIF or something.

I use the Trico(?) silicone ones available from any Wal*Mart.
These have a LIFETIME GUARANTEE if you want to go through all the trouble of sending them in to get replaced.
I tend to get 5 to 10 years of service from them depending on climate.
For $8 per arm (wiper blade insert + metal arm), it's a very good bang-for-the-buck compared to Mazda OEM of some of the premium rubber alternatives.
These things outlast any rubber wiper blade hands down, and their performance is more consistent over it's lifetime; rubber blades degrade drastically after a year or two.

its cheaper just to replace the cheap ones when they fall apart than to buy nice ones
