Cloned to a 10th Anniversary? Seems like a pretty good deal.

Find out if the motor has been rebuilt though.

No, that is not a good Turbo VERT. You'll have too much difficulty to get the top to go down.

See how it runs, give a once over and ask lots of questions.

Nothing a sawzall can't fix. But storage space for the roof may be hard to come by.

Oh yeah whoops. I had to go to work so I wasn't thinking. So as far as a regular turbo car goes it seems good and I should see if it was rebuilt? And if it wasn't?

Okay he says he doesn't know if it was rebuilt or not.

(and I do apologize for the double post, for the life of me the EDIT button is nowhere to be seen)

Hmmm except for this post. I wonder if it had something to do with Ad Block Plus...

136k and 20+ years on the original turbo motor is a timebomb. Compression test it, I'd say the chances are in the favor of it having been rebuilt once before though.

The edit button only has a life of 30 minutes with each post starting whith the first moment you made the post. Why they set it up so it falls off after 30 minutes, I have no idea. This is the only forum I frequent that does that.

Yeah fair enough, so you think I should go there and ask if I can take the fuel fuse out as well as the lower spark plug and turn it over? (Was that how to do a cheap compression test?) Hopefully he would let me. I mean I was worried about a "timebomb" on my hands. So is there a fairly easy way to see if was indeed rebuilt in its lifetime? Thanks!

And thanks hozzman for the info.

Maroon interior and a haggerd engine and drivetrain. Id give no more than $1000 for it considering what it will take to make it reliable.

Try to get a compression test on the engine. I'm thinking that the seller knows what kind of shape the engine is in and probably already knows what compression is on it. If he knows enough about rotaries to build an anniversary clone then he also knows enough to compression test the engine.

Ask him if he's compression tested it. If he says no ask him if you can compression test it. If he says no again then assume the engine is the original and due to go out at any time.

Timebombs DO suck. So he said he did a compession test. With a normal one though and not one made for a rotary. And I'm also reading up on arroncakes site too.
