Is this a good price for a jspek motor and....

Just curious, this guy I know said that he would sell me a Jspek S5 motor, T2 tranny, T2 Driveshaft, T2 rear end, T2 ecu and a T2 harness for $1800. The motor runs and everything, started it up in the car and everything. What do you guys think about that, get it, or find somewhere else?

All opinions welcome

Miles

Check the compression on the engine by turning it and listening for 3 even pulses on each rotor. If that works out, I'd grab it. You won't be able to tell what PSI it'll be compressing at (unless there's a method I don't know about), but you can tell that it isn't blown currently.

I didn't see the AFM or pressure sensor in your list. You'll want them also.

Spin the turbo. It can have a little side play, but no end play.

It sounds good, I found where I can get engine /tranny series 4 for $950 shipped to your door. If it has less than 60,000 miles I'd buy all that.

sounds a little high to me... $1000 for the motor and tranny and shipping, $100 for the rear end, and $100 for the drive shaft, $100 for the harness and sensors and $100 for misc...

and you don't want the Jspec ECU

Also if it is a Jspec TII harness then you won't be able to use it.

Technically you can but you won't have interioir stuff like the blower motor.

When I was checking Jspecs I was getting prices for the engine alone $1100.
The tranny is mayeb a hundred to 300 then rearend maybe 100 everything else 50bux.

The ecu would be fine.

You need a Aspec harness though
