Good ebay find for FCON/GCC for S5 - someone buy it

I found this while browsing ebay and it seems like a good price for the HKS FCON/GCC combo for an S5 TII...

I'd take it but I've already got an Rtek 1.7 ECU and 720cc's hehe

This is probably a n00b question, but when it says "Programmed as Front Mount Intercooler, Boost controller, and boost up," can you change those settings? Sorry, but I've I don't know much about the FCON.

It's a misleading description...basically, the FCON is meant for an FC running a stock turbo, stock injectors and more boost! It maximizes the stock fuel injectors by bumping up the duty cycle big time. The FCON itself has a couple of adjustments that lean out or richen the entire curve a couple percent across the board. The GCC is an add on TO the FCON and is basically a very old school AFC that allows you to adjust fuel in a few % at specified points in the rpm range.

The FCON is a great piece for reliability and safety on TII's with common mods (full exhaust, intake, fuel pump).

While an SAFC works better (more adjustability) but NEEDS an experienced tuner to dial in. This is a great price for the FCON though WITH the GCC. I've seen $400-500 trading for this combo.

*ponders* will it work for a car with the basic mods and a mild street port as well? Sorry about all of the questions, but I was looking into an SAFC, but if this will work as well for a car with my mods, I'm gonna grab it.

Yes, for a TII with a full intake/exhaust it should work well and be fairly idiot proof. Get a walbro fuel pump as well...I believe the listing for the FCON GCC is for an S5 TII only.

That F-CON has a "E104" chip, it looks like.
I don't have any reference of such a chip, so the FMIC + more boost might be valid.
HKS did offer alternate chips for different mods, but I only list a E149 and a E1102 chip for the Kouki FC3S turbo application.
E149 = stock turbo
E1102 = sport turbo upgrade -> HKS T04E

The F-CON just by itself just modifies the stock fuel curve.
It has only one adjustment internally; you need to pop the cover off to access the pot.
This adjustment affect the fuel curve over the entire RPM range, so it's a very broad AFR adjustment.

The GCC adds more fine tuning per RPM band.
The S-AFC basically does what this whole package does for a much better price (if comparing brand new MSRP's).

The F-CON has the nice feature of being PnP, but you still need to install the FCD (usually missing from used sales) and the HKS boost sensor.

Bottom line, the F-CON + GCC combo and the S-AFC will both basically do the same thing.
