i went to get brakes for my 86 base model non turbo rx at my local performance store... i told them that it had the 5 lug wheels so they ordered me the brakes and when they got here they were the wrong ones... here i looked at the pics in the book and i had to order my brakes as an 88 4 lug wheel rx, what the heck is going on...

 

Huh? if you have a base you have 4 lug wheels. Therefore you order 4 lug brakes.

1986 - 1988 RX-7's come in 4 and 5 lug
Just look at your wheels - it's kinda obvious.
Go return those brakes and get the right ones.

your car is obviously five lug from the pcs but it was availible in fouyr lug but if yours was bought five lug then it's not a base model its a gxl i would guess, ohh and get rid of that auto tranny
