good deal or ....?

I looked at a 91t2 today and it was pretty nice save for all the broken glass and missing dash stuff. It's gota full 3" turbo back rb duel exhaust and a cone filter, a bunch of gauge harnesses but no gauges, a ripped out stero but all the speakers, newly apulstered (can't spell) seats, the carpet is not put in all the way and will need to be redone. it's been lowered and has greddy springs i think, light weight wheels and sticky rubber. the rear right quarter panel is smashed in and the paint is cracking off and is done so right on the gas door (the door opens but am unsure of the gas tank filler hose/neck, the rear right tail light is spiliting apart a little, some of the bumber inserts are in the trunck waiting to be put on the car. has a new front lip spoiler that's pretty slick looking. the drivers window is littered about the cabin and both door weather stripings are dried out and will need to be replaced. the seals on both front and rear wind shields are missing on the top but I guess can be replaced? the motor has been rebuilt but seems to be in good shape (haven't driven it yet). there are cross thathes in the rear left quarter panel (from a new paint job???). the guy says it's been sitting for a while so battery is dead. all the harnesses for the after market boost, sir/fuel, fuel pressure are supposedly intact and opperational. he's asking 5500 for it. am I being **** about looking over the car? it has nice lines and it could look nice after some serious tlc and replacement parts. what do you think?

Yah that price is waaay to high...of course, if it's the only one around, that's probably why he feels he can charge that. You should be able to talk him down...

It has about 50k on the motor and about 93000 on the chassis. I got the carfax report and man am I glad that the club has people who can look up vins'. it has a salvage title and carfax says a severe accident or total loss has been reported........the junk tittle was issued 02-07-2003. I don't know about this car now. the dude says that the wheels on the car are 1200 and the lip spoiler is around 500. still all being said and done the car been around the block and back. what does the group say? the paint could look really hot once all the imperfections and dust and crap is buffed out and waxed but I don't really know what the deal is with salvage titles.
