good deal?

I'm getting a white 88 GTU next week but the more i think about it, the more i want something else. convince me to get it... or another RX7 if this isn't as great of a deal.

its a white 88 GTU, some ground effects, alarm system, spoiler (stock?),odometer reads 160k something but hes rebuliding the engine right now from another 88 RX7 (13B fuel injected). He sounds very honest with me because he was going to sell it to me earlier for ~$2600 and he said he wasn't satisfied with its preformance so he wanted to rebulit it before hesold it to me and sell it to me for $100 more. This guy seems to know his rotary stuff. What do you all say? should i go with this, look for another RX7 or a different car all together?

well thanks for the offers guys but do you guys think the price he's asking for is a little high assuming everything is in fairly good condition?

With 160k miles I think the price is a little steep. But if he rebuilds the engine correctly I would say it's all good. Go for it.

But that is my opinion

The 88 GTU is a great car, but the asking price is too high. See the "Private Party Value" on the link below. Please read the definitions for the condition codes (Good, Excellent, etc.).
http://www.kbb.com

You can't "rebuild" an engine with parts from another engine. Hopefully you mean that he is rebuilding another engine with NEW parts, which he will then install in the GTU.

FYI, the alarm system, some aerodynamics, and a spoiler come stock on an 88 GTU, although the car could also have aftermarket parts.
