Is this a good buy??

Hi I was wondering what you guys think of this. Its a 1986 GLX need exhaust work, is an Auto.... for 1200. Real close to where I live, I haven't seen it yet but might make the trip. It had low miles I can't find the info right now but I was sure it was real low like 78,000 or something around there. He said there was some small rust starting to show in the front fenders nothing major though. So what do you guys think other than it being a slow dog box. I just wanted an other car to get around in and what better than one with RX-7 on the back

You gotta remember tho...Supposedly automatics hold their value better. but that still don't change the fact that I'd rather have a 5 speed personally.

Well thats the whole thing for me as well. I would like to have a 5 speed but for the price and location, I can put aside it being an auto. Thanks for the input I guess I'lll be making the trip.

Look if its in good shape for 1200 i would get it. You can always go to a 5-sp for about 300-400$. And with 70k!! i guess you dont realize what kinda deal your looking at right there.

If there's any rust I flat out wouldn't buy it. What you can see is only a small part of the problem. If it was a solid body, but an automatic, I'd jump on it for $1200 since it's a great candidate for modification in that the first thing to go would be the slushbox.

OK so I went to look at it is in pritty good shape little bits of rust around but nothing huge or that major. The inside looks mint the seats look almost new. The car has 72,100 miles it hasn't been driven in a few years, kinda worried about that but I'm goin back to talk with the guy.

worst of the rust I can see for body, the underneath wasn't that bad eather.

Oh one more thing whats up with auto adjusting suspention it also has that if that makes any difference.
