Gonna buy some new parts need some feedback
Ok so I want/need to get some new stuff for the FC and I want to hear about other peoples experiences with these parts. First on rx7.com I want to get the racing beat header, Bonez cat combo. How good is this cat? Will it last long with the heat pr will it burn out in a couple months? The header will this activate the 5th and 6th port? I'm not even sure if I have an S5 or S4 motor. My car is an S4 with an S5 conversion and a supposedly rebuilt motor. How can I find out if it still has the S4 motor? The guy I got the car from was Japanese and didn't speak too good english. Next on the list- Clutch Masters stage 3 kevlar clutch. Anyone use one of these? I've only found reviews on GSR's and the people all seemed pleased. Next- the fly wheel- I'm unsure about whether I should get the 17lb steel RacingBeat or the 12lb aluminum. I live in San Francisco and I think the aluminum with the clutch might get to be a pain in the ***. Also how is vibration with the 2 flywheels? I've been told it could make the car rock since the weight smoothes the motor movement. Thanks in advance for your opinions
If rx7.com sells it I'm guessing it should hold up.
Search 'S4 S5 differences', or read Kevin's tech section on RotaryResurrection.com, I think he has something in there that would answer your S4/S5 question. A few differences are the OMP (S5 is electronic, S4 is mechanical), S5 and S4 plug timing is different but that probably won't help as it is a slight difference. You should check the ECU and match it up that way. If the car runs then I think it's a safe guess that the ECU is matched to the harness, which should be matched to the engine.
I'd think a steel clutch would last longer, and I think the lighter clutch will also be rougher than the other to drive daily, but of course can free up more power to go to the wheels and will rev a little faster.
Idk about rocking the car, someone else might know more on that.

If you post a picture of the engine I or someone else can probably tell you if it is an S5 or S4.
For the flywheel, I'd say go with the steel one. 12lbs is pretty light for street.
I'm not familiar with that clutch but if you are trying to make it hold more torque than stock make sure the increase is in a hevier pressure plate not a more agressive disc. Espicially in San Fran, I hear they have a few hills there, an agressive disc will drive you nuts.
