going to mechanic
Ok so I'm going to a mechanic saturday for a tune up.
Here's the problems I'm having, any advice on what specificly is wrong so I can tell the guy when I get there.
1. when idle, engine goes up and down, several minutes later, dies.
- doesn't happen when driving
2. was goin' 30mph, pulled e-brake, car stopped but tires didn't lock up.
3. starting the car is somewhat of a problem, but has always been able to start first time, takes a while. (1 - 2 minutes)
if you can, tell me which number you're answering please, thanks a lot guys.

Not real clear on the issues...
#1 the TPS is out of adjustement.
#2 you shouldn't be trying to lock up the parking brake at 30 MPH... that is just an accident waiting to happen as well as a mechanical failure. In addition that is the quickest way to distroy the parking brake cable. It is a parking brake... not a fast and furious toy. To see if the parking brake is set correctly, if you are stopped, and in neutral and pull up on the brake, the brake should prevent the car from rolling within 4 to 7 clicks. More than 7 clicks and the Parking Brake is out of adjustment and or the cable is streched and/or damaged from pulling the brake on while moving.
#3 If you are cranking for more than 15 seconds you will burn out the starter. You need to confirm that the starting is really taking that long, and that you are starting the car correctly (which needs to be considered that you may not be starting correctly if you think it is right to pull up on the Parking brake at 30 MPH
