going to be fabricating parts for my FC, possible interest?
Im going to be fabricating a couple parts for my car, and doing a few things to make it more functional from an aerodynamic stand point. Now, im thinking about using the design and mold to possibly produce more than one part (so that more FC owners can use the parts if they wish) but its not a for sure thing.
Im thinking about making the following for my car;
A dual headlight kit, that will fit where the stock headlight sits, without cutting into the front fashia. Possibly buying a front bumper, (RE-Amemiya styled). If i buy a bumper like this, i would just fit some lights in there and call it good.
Vented Hood
Under tray
Brake ducts
Spoiler (slightly reminiscent of the one my GTU currently wears, just a tad longer, to improve the downforce that it creates)
Thoughts, Ideas, suggestions?

I will also be fabricating a tube frame chassis for my car (this will be a slow process, and I wont be starting any time soon) If anyone is interested in that as well, after I start, I would be glad to help, or possibly perform the work.

The brake duct would vent air from the exterior of the car (probably the lower front foglight hole in the bumper) right onto the brakes themselves, to help with cooling.
The vented hood ideas that i have in mind at the moment are, C5R GTS, a cowl design, or similar to a 280ZX design (vents plus an inlet) Another design im looking at possibly replicating is the Jaguar XJ 220. I definitely wont put something on my car that doesnt look good after I mock it up, so thats not an issue, but Im really not sure. I want something functional, that ADDS to the look of the car. Like i said, im open to suggestions. The brake ducts though, since i wont be cutting anything (except maybe the wheel well) I will definitely doing.
Another Idea my friend just came up with is taking two TII scoops, and reversing them so that they face the driver, and duct from behind the radiator to the vents. Not sure how it would look, but its an idea. It would definitely draw air out of the engine bay, and it would keep the air that just passed over the radiator and the IC from going into the engine as much, further reducing heat.
Ill try to mock this up in photo shop or something, and give you back a design.

The Jaguar XJ220 style hood is very similar to the FD Feed hood. I think that would look like total *** on an FC.
There are many vented hoods already being made. Shineauto is replicating the "sexy style" hood. Though, I don't find anything sexy about it.
I think Shineauto is also making an undertray for the FC as well.

Yes they are. The problem with all of these, is that they cost money. I dont HAVE money. The duct can always be made larger by the way, even if it already exists. As for the other parts, i would rather buy some fiberglass at walmart (8 bucks for a 4x4 sheet) and some resin/epoxy, and make it myself for about 100 bucks, instead of paying 400 for the same thing. Yes, I agree, talk is cheap. Ill post some pictures when i work on it this weekend. Just because I have an idea doesnt mean you need to destroy it though. Its always starts as an idea. No one just blinks and creates a part.
Even if someone is already making it, who is to say i cant create one as well?
Anyways, depending on when i wake up tomorrow (night classes suck for that reason alone) I will try and mock up an undertray to fit the stock bumper, and see what i can do with the brake ducts.
Dont flame me on this guys, all im saying is that I had an idea...

Well that makes more sense now that you say that, and thanks for the clarification. Like i said, night school in itself sucks, but it is an auto tech school, so +1 for that. Ill try to get some of it going tomorrow when i wake up, like i said before.
Hold your breath, i dare you! Make yourself pass out! If you were really a man you could hold your breath till you asphyxiated yourself. Oh wait, you drive a 7, no breath holding required, the C0 will do it for you! lol.
I will get started as soon as I have light in the morning, and try to get some picture of the design up.

Dammit. Thats the only thing that I have to say. I go to bed, the skies are clear. I start on my way to home depot to pick a few things up. Skies are clear. I start coming home, and zeus' butthole opens up and pours water over everything in sight. I want to get fabricating, but i dont want to have to lay in the mud just to measure something, and i cant really make a cardboard mock up if its gonna get soaked. So...Im waiting untill its not raining. I have pictures of the design/idea for the headlights so far, and ill stick those up here.

Please excuse my sketches, I dont have CAD, and they are just idea sketches, not trying to render anything here...Anways, those are kinda my ideas for what it will look like as a finished product. (headlight)

Another update, i got started with a cardboard mock up of the headlight, so far it looks pretty good. toook some pictures, didnt have time to post them before school. Right now im just trying to make something to use as a mold so i can get a prototype out and start fooling with that...
Does anyone know if epoxy/resin would eat saran wrap or duct tape?

And the Revolution...
4in is about all I could fit past the headlight motors and still turn in enough to actually put air towards the caliper/rotors. If you put pipe in the actual wheel well then the tire is probably going to hit it during full lock. Mine stops right at the inner fender. I've got some pics around somewhere I can post, I'll see what I can do tonight.
