Going to the dyno!! Anyone wanna guess my HP?

Ok, i talked to Ralph at excessive motor sports, and he's going to hook me up Next monday, i'm suppose to give him a call to setup a time, later in the week that we can dyno my trusty old FC.

What i'm going to do, is play with the ignition timing, as i don't have a s-afc just yet. But he said for $95 we'll play with it for as long as it takes.

So i have no idea what type of HP i'll be putting down, but here are some numbers i've put together.

40-70mph in 2nd gear 3.80 seconds

40-70mph in 3rd gear average 5.7seconds

Hopefully by this next weekend, i'll be installing the Hi-6 so there might be a couple more hp.

Let me know what you guys think!

CJ

Thursday at 10am is the date. On a side note, this sunday is opeing day for drag racing at Woodburn. Hope to take either the 3rd gen or my 2nd gen down there.

Also, Ralph at Excessive motor sports has a 3rd gen that put down 514rwhp@22psi. He said that the toque was still shooting upwords at 8k rpms, when they stopped the run. Rob@pineapple (who built the motor) said that in the end, it would be set up for 28-30psi.

The turbo he was running was a t04...something cubed. Never heard of it before, i think he said it was a prototype turbo.

I'm personaly hoping for just 300rwhp....that does'nt mean i'll even come close, but i'm hoping. CJ

What kind of port is done to it and how much of one? That could be a big factor but you should be up there with those mods. I know you are hoping for some number, what is it? Bet 200 huh?

Hey whats new. I was going to go Thursday, but the dyno shop close to me is closed for a month because of renovation. I might have to drive up to Worcester for it this Thursday. Still debating if i should do it. Well heck, iwill call them now

I have a 90 GXL, 158K miles, cut open intake box, bonez cat, RB cat back. I dynoed at 127rwhp with stock everything when it had 93K. I am hoping for 135-140rwhp the way it is now.

To be honest, i don't know. I realy doubt i'll make 200rwhp, but i would like to see 210-220 flywheel hp or so. To be realy honest, i have no clue what it feels like. The only other thing i have to compare it to is my 3rd gen...but thats like comparing apples to organges.

As far as the port job, I told Rob at Pineapple, primarily to make it a gas mileage port, but to go as far as one could port it, and still pass emmisions and stock idle quality. So when it comes down to it, its what Rob would call a mild street port.

I'm still trying to get rid of a high rpm miss that starts about 6k and ends by 7k, hopefully i'll be able to get rid of it by thursday. I just installed a big ground strap from motor to firewall, as Adam (Mazdaspeed7) said to try. Because it cured his hi-rpm problem. I'm yet to test drive it, but hopefully it works.

I'll keep you guys posted. CJ

28-30 psi? Thats pretty crazy. I think the EIP Golf runs 45 psi sometimes (four wheel burnouts) I would say you'll get almost 200rwhp, good luck with the timing.

I'd say 185rwhp would be very good results.
