godamn ebrake idiot light!
alright, everyone once in a while the idiot light for the ebrake comes out. after searching, ive deduced that i have a bad sensor. unfortunately all the threads that had pics of where exactly it is located are no longer hosted. can someone show me where the sensor is? (im assuming its under the center console). thanks for the help.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
There are two things that can throw on the Brake warning light.
Low brake fluid in the brake resivoir under the hood, or the hand brake being up.
To check the sensor in the hand brake, just remove the plastic cover for the hand brake. You'll see a real simple mechanical switch there.

Referring to the warning lights as "idiot lights" can bite you in the ***...

Good thing I decided to randomly read this post. My brake light stayed on the last time I drove my car and I just assumed that the sensor had gone bad or that it was sticking and wouild eventually go away.
After reading this post and dscovering that low break fluid can also cause the light to come on I decided I'd better check it out and sure enough.........almost no break fluid in the resivoir!!! Now I just have to figure out where it all went..........could high boost levels cause reverse pressure through the break booster and eventually cause the master cylinder to leak??? Just a thought.

The BRAKE booster is not connected to the hydraulic reservior in any way.
If you're losing brake fluid, you got a leak somewhere...
