God damned Proplematic POS

I am about ready to give up on RX-7s If i can't fix this car.

Hear are my problems. Hard start in the morning. Have to hold the gas down for 15 secs to keep a runnin idle. This car is like a girl....huge mood swings. I start the car one time the Water Temp sensor that the ECU thinks is dead works. And the alternator charges at a constant 14.6 and then sometimes it will charge at 12 at idle. I step on the gas goes back up to 14.6 or whatever.

Driving around seems good. Then i take the car home. huge backfires stutters bogs while i push the gas

If i dont get this bitch fixed i'm FORSURE SELLING IT

evan

ANY HELP? PLEASE THIS IS GOING ON TO BE MY LAST ATTEMPT

Sounds to me like it's running ruch. Could be a multitude of problems.

I would start with air flow meter myself. Check the ECU for codes and see if it thinks anything is wrong..

Thats the problem. My water Temp sensor...just fixed it still saying that its broken. So the Ecu gives me codes For it but its not broken. So i cannot see if there are other codes to be dealt with!

yeah i was sure it was running rich.

That could be a loose connection, most likely the plug on the sensor. Also check for continuity between the sensor plug and the ECU plug.
Sounds like your alternator's on its last legs. Get it rebuilt before it strands you.

Did you reset the ECU after putting in the water temperature sensor? If not, than disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few seconds and then reconnect it. This will clear the stored codes from the ECU.

How new is your 02 sensor? It could be giving your ecu false info.

Not sure. I'll have to check the wiring to get a new ECU code.
