I'm wanting to move away from Rtek and go to either MS3X, Power FC, or Haltech on my S5 turbo swapped convertible. Part of the reason is to start using GM sensors, replace the expensive MAF with MAP sensor and I'd love to get rid of the expensive Mazda TPS and get a GM TPS.
If you've done it post up some pics and let me know how it worked out for you.
From what I've read so far you need to grind the throttle body shaft to fit the GM sensor and make sure the bracket you make and use doesn't allow any wiggle on the sensor.
Doesn't answer your question, but if you have a working S5 TPS to go with your S5 TB (i.e., TPS that covers full throttle range), why bother changing it out? Any of the ECUs you mentioned can be calibrated to work with the stock TPS.
FWIW, I'm running an AEM Infinity with my S5T2 and still using the Mazda TPS with no problems. If you were worried about the wiring harness TPS connector, you can get a new TPS connector so you can build your custom wiring harness from these guys: https://lms-efi-llc.myshopify.com/co...-tps-connector

In general I want to get away from 30 yr old wiring and parts. Maybe things have changed from when I was a teen and in my 20s and 67' Firebird parts were hard to come by. I imagine that rotary our parts are going to get increasingly expensive and simply can't get anymore.
I've had nothing but trouble with TPS sensors over the years. From my past cars I've had 3 of them which all failed. Bought a used one and it failed. Rather than spend $400 on a new one I like the idea of modding a TB and buy a cheaper and newer GM TPS.
Yeah I hear you on the cost & availability concerns with Mazda parts, but if you're going with an aftermarket ECU, you're going to be building a fresh custom made wiring harness anyway... Which in effect solves the #1 "reliability" problem associated with Mazda's stock TPS -- which is why I recommend sticking with the stock TPS. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
99% of the time it's the crispy, corroded ancient stock wiring that causes the Mazda TPS to go out of adjustment, and usually the inexperienced owner/mech/tech ends up misdiagnosing the problem as a failed TPS & replaces it. Then a few days/weeks/months later, the new TPS "fails".
Yep, I get it on bad wiring and misdiagnosing. I'm an HVAC technician and 70% of failures are wiring and electrical problems not the motors themselves. Happens all the time that technicians who don't know what they are doing start swapping out parts till they narrow down by process of elimination.
I don't know that I need to replace the TPS yet. I just got the car out of storage and am putting my hands on it again after a couple years when it lost compression on the front rotor. Prior to the engine dying I was fighting electrical problems and while the engine is out I can sit in the engine bay and look over the wiring real well. I remember testing all the pins on the ECU per the FSM and not finding any issues. But, in an all or nothing mode of thinking I'd really like to get rid of the old wiring harnesses and start with as clean a slate as possible. If the OEM TPS is good I'll keep it. But I also think I have a spare throttlebody in one of my box of parts. If I can pick up a GM TPS and muck around with it some I'm only out the cost of part and a spare throttle body.
