getting a TII, what should I expect....

I am about to buy my first TII,
( I have owned 5 n/a's, including 2 s4 gxl's one was street ported and stripped put down 160rwhp with RB exhaust, kn intake, 1 s5 gxl, 1 s5 GTU,
and my current 1990 GTUs )

I am kinda falling into alittle bit of money and I have always wanted a TII,
This guy is local and from previous experiances with him, he seems to know enough about cars,

well he is willing to sell this to me for 3500$ cash,

here is his FS: post

:::
1987 mazda rx-7
118k on chassi
new j-spec engine
good 5-speed
salvage title

new stuff put on the car:
tokiko suspension - installed by R&G
ball joints - installed by R&G
tie rods - installed by R&G
brakes* - installed by R&G
fuel pump - installed by R&G
FPR - installed by R&G
fuel filter - installed by R&G
spark plugs - i did install
driveshaft - i did install
diff. mounts - i did install
diff. bushings - i did install
tranny mount - i did install
turbo** - i did install
JDM intercooler - i did install
new primary injectors - i did install
gas tank was dropped, drained and coated inside - done by R&G
megasquirt
boost gauge
LM1 wideband installed
comes with laptop (needs new windows put on)

stuff i fixed without needing new parts:
took the black carpet out of my GTU and put in salmon.
same with pass. seat, the door panels.
fixed drivers window
fixed headlights
fixed tail lights
fixed leaking windshield
fixed leaking sunroof
fixed shaking in the front end (bad tire)

ok. the R&G bill for parts and labor was 1418.xx.

*the brakes were 708.xx (rx7.com bonez drilled and slotted package with pads) along with 2 BRAND new rear calipers from mazdatrix (200 a piece).
i have receipts to go with those.

**the turbo is a greddy TDOH6 19c turbo ported. it will support around 400 hp at 15lbs of boost. the manifold is a ss autochrome. wastegate is a old school greddy sprung at 8lbs (which is what im running, so around 300hp.) the wastegate dumps into the open. the exhaust is a racing beat turbo back with a apexi muffler. no cat.

heres my math:
1500 for car to start
708.xx for brakes
400 for calipers
1418.xx for R&G install stuff
500 for turbo
100 for stuff to make turbo work
50 for new injectors
= 4700 just for that stuff.

shocks = 100 bux for springs and everything
driveshaft = given by tyler
tranny mount = 20 bux
diff mounts = 30 bux
diff. bushing and such = 110 bux
JDM intercooler = 75

that = 300

i have alot of time, money and such invested in the car. alot of the stuff were spare parts i had laying around, and some other stuff. ::::

now I know as well as he does you can never get back as much as you have put into a car,
but he has dropped his asking price quite abit and I am going to buy this,

My main issues are that this car will be my daily driver,
( about 10 min. highway drive to work and 10. min back )

along with the occasional cruising and some drifting with alittle drag.

There is a verry knowledgeable MS person here in town he would tune it for me ( has tuned a couple of rotaries b4 )

I planned on buying a fairly stock TII, but It is next to impossible to find a decent TII where I live, and the only one remotely close worth anything is a
s4 TII, with a blown coolant seal, and no paint, ( he wants 2500$$!!>!>?! )

I am most deff. not a rotary n00b, but when it comes to tuning and higher HP numbers I would rather be safe than sorry.

I just wanna see what your guy's outake is on this,

I would just like to have alittle above average HP, still DDable ( I can deal with a few quirks ).

I am already set on buying this car so I you can spare the " get a stock one ",

I would kinda like to see if someone is running a similar setup and how their car is on a daily basis.

here is some pictures.

the car is currently all put back together and it runs.

thanx for your help!!!

for 3500 that seems like a steal

thats a **** load of mods ... i would ****** it up in a heartbeat if i had the cash in hand

you could probably ****** the car and flip it on ebay for more than 3500 with those mods

man, even with all those mods, the fact that it's a salvage title sort of ruins it.

I would still buy it
If it came down to it, you could part it out and make some money.
