Getting a T2 next week

I an acquiring a T2 next week. Its not 100% certain since its not in my possession yet. I've read the FAQ's and aaron cakes site. here's the cars story as I know it. Parked sometime in 2007 due to a brittle wiring harness, car still runs has been started periodically since parked, other than that no major issues.

So here's my questions

1) How much am I looking at for a new/used harness. I can do the work myself.

2) Since It hasn't been really driven in awhile, what do I need to do before I drive it home. I assume new gas, I know to use premium.

anyways, I'll post some pics when/if I get her (Sunday or Monday). I'm fairly confident its going to be mine. My girlfriends landlord is giving it to me to take over the maintenance on there duplex. So sweet deal I end up doing the work 99% of the time anyway. also comes with a spare tranny, and a boost controller. He's also giving me a FC tranny for my FB.

Same as any car. Check the belts for wear and cracks, all fluid levels, make sure tires are inflated to proper pressure. I would start it and let it run for a bit. Make sure it doesn't overheat. When its warmed up and running check for any oil leaks, from the engine or turbo. actually, any leaks period.
Bring brake fluid, ps fluid, antifreeze and oil just in case. You should be good to go unless there is something major wrong.

A harness is going to be expensive in most cases, so I would try to avoid that if I were you. Depending on how long it has been, check this site for other questions: www.fc3spro.com.

Is it a S5? If so I may have a engine harness for it for cheap.

Its an S4 sorry about that. its an 87

So when I drive home do I have to keep it from boosting? I know I have to take it easy on it for the first few thousand miles. The only reason I ask these questions is because I've never owned a turbo before. I've driven a few. Know some basics about it. other than that I'm a boost rookie. I'm aware of the issues of taking a car out of a long sit. My FB was sitting for a few years before I got it, now its my DD. but it took some work.
