Getting sacred.

Well, i'm starting to get scare for my baby. Shes a 91 N/A and at 140K on the odo. She still has the original motor and she is maintained perfectly. She starts up w/ no problems and runs great, except for the occasional ruff idle. The reason i'm getting scared is the mileage is starting to get really high, and I don't have the time or resources if she goes astray. On top of that I drive 70 miles one way to work every day, thats 700 miles a week, just for work, shes just recking up the miles. Again she is perfectly kept, even garaged every night. She still pulls very well 5th and has no real issues. I love her.

I'm just writing this cause... i guess i just felt like sharing.

Well, from what I know of FCs... the N/As are nearly bulletproof if maintained properly. If you have maintained her as well as you say, she should tote up to 200k easily, assuming that don't skimp out now.

Good luck, and hope she stays true.

My 87 went 210000 & probably would have run longer if I hadn't been blindsided by a worn out fan clutch & eroded water pump housing at the same time.

check the O2 sensor that can realy affect highway millege. heck its only $20 it could pay for itself in a week by gas savings.

Honestly you should start putting away some money just in case. I'm assuming that most of the 700 miles a week is highway right? If so it's not that bad. Around 2000 miles a month. I really hope you don't have any problems but just in case you should have a backup plan and money. Good luck man!

i'm averaging 20 mpg, so no complaint's there.

One thing i do need to do though is get new struts, ride is starting to getting a little bouncy/wavey.

Yes all highway mileage.
I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks, so all my saved money went/is going to that. I have been saving for a while, and its not that hard at all to save money, i've always lived by the "Always have something for the unexpected" rule.

My 88 GTu went to 102k and blew a colant seal.

My 88 SE went to 155k before it blew it's seals.

Do a compression test and see what your in for.

If it's higher than 90 then you are some what ok.
If lower then prepare for a rebuild.

My N/A took a dive at 96K...

I've had it since 84K. It's been taken care of perfectly since then, but I can only assume it was treated like crap prior to that- Regardless, it she's made it that long, and is that strong, I'd imagine you can pull 200K out of it at least-
