About 2 years ago i sold my 1986 N/A Rexy and i miss it dearly. I have been trying for the last 2 years to get one of my own again that was in good enough shape to drive everyday. I finally have found one and have enough money to pay for it after i return from Iraq in about 5 days now. Its a 1987 T2 with 45,000 miles on it. They are great cars and you will sorely miss it. There is nothing like an RX-7. Not even that damn RX-8!!!!
Definitly keep it

sell it Rx-7's are money pits and no offense but you don't seem like someone with a LOT of mechanical knowlage. You say it doesn't run........because it needs a clutch...It'll still run with a blown clutch. sell it before you dump money into a project you can't possibly complete. Stick with the reliable Acura it'll impress all your friends with a set of clear lenses instead of spending a lot on an OLD rx-7 and getting no respect from the local ricers at the sonic drive in... Save soem cash and buy a T2 or something if you want an rx-7 worth wasting your money on....

Ouch I kinda agree with Russ, and RRtec. But the fact still remains, you do have an RX. If you don't know how to work on them you just have to get your hands dirty and start learning. There is only so much to learn and then it is all butter. Even your NA RX will still whip the pants off a Acura Integra (based that your engine is up to the challenge; ie. ported).

it all depends if your up to the task. Do you feel like getting your hands dirty and learning somthing? or do not feel up to the task. If you choose the 2nd answer, sell it and geta honda or somthing. They are great cars, reliable, and easy to maintain. If you really want to stick with a 7, id say keep the one you have, and fix it up. I personally like the feel of an NA motor over a Turbo but once you go turbo, you'll never go back. -alex

Yeah I just sold my 89 GXL a week ago and miss it already. It is not that bad though because I sold it to my brother and have still been able to take it out. I intend on getting back into rotaries with a decent 3rd gen. The RX7 is an addictive car. Everyone I know that has owned one has wanted to get back into them. Maybe the RX7 isn't for you but, to each his own.

Thats what i was thinking... The N/A rotaries were kicking *** in the racing scene while you were still crapping your pants "rx7with nitrous" .....no not the time you crapped them yesterday i mean like when you were a baby in diapers. They were even kicking *** while your dad was tricking your mom into bed while they were in high school...

To the poster of this thread... If all thats stopping you is a clutch, you might consider a more reliable vehicle.

That's right these fuel injected models have me stumped...so i know first hand that you don't need to get involved with something you know little about... I have 6 in total now. and have owned rx-7's since i was 15. (23 now) and i know that i don't know near enough...I am more familiar with the 1st gen 12a setup. But i have trouble working out the small bugs. Thanks for the help j-rat BTW I bought a ohm meter and the prob should be cleared up soon. Admit it they are money pits and need constant attention....BUt i love them anyways....I learn something new everyday and probably will never go without a Rx-7 i the fleet of cars i drive....
