Getting my motor... Any tips on puttin it in?

Well, I bought my 90 TII 7 months ago with a blown motor and I am FINALLY getting a motor for it. I have put in many piston motors but never a motor in an rx7. Are there any tricks/tips you all might be able to help me with? How long should this take? Im getting a JDM engine so I will have to swap some of the crap off the old engine to the new one...

Anyone know what all I will have to take off the old motor to make the JDM one work? Thanks!!

easier to use US turbo and manifold. Unlike most engine swaps it is easier to remove it with the wiring harness attached to the engine. Pull passenger carpet back and unplug harness from computer and sensors then pull it through the firewall. There is a full factory service manual avaiulable for viewing on this forum. I have done a swap in 3 1/2 hours but my first took closer to a long saturday.

Is there anything different on the actual turbo itself on a JDM and USDM? I wanted to use the turbo from the JDM, because my turbo has 141k miles on it... Can I use the JDM one on my USDM manifold? Thx

I think the turbo is close to the same but they arent in front of me right now the wastegate is different. I know the differences are because of the steering over on that side it is possible to use the JDM setup just some mods need to be done you might find a write up on it in a search

anyone else know if the turbo is different on a JDM vs USDM? I would sure like to use the JDM one. It has to have less miles.
