depends on how low the budget is. You could start with upgraded exhaust and air filter, electric fan is a good one as well. Maybe look into the hybrid intake system using the S5 upper and a S4 lower, or underdrive lightwieght pulleys.

Remove the stock air box and get a pod filter, change the fluids, get new spark plugs. And get a new exhaust with a new cat converter. If you have an A/C just remove it, it takes bout 20kg out and less strain on the motor.

Very noticable gains.

Electric fan will do nothing for you. Underdrive pulley is useless if you look at money/power.

Custom exhaust is what you should be looking into.

Definitely put the 7's and 9's in instead of the 10's that you have now. Drivability will be improved.

For 500 euros? Depending on what your VAT or other taxes are over there, you're pretty much limited to a full tune-up (plugs, plug wires, oil change, coolant flush, injector cleaning, etc.) and maybe an aftermarket cone air filter. If you don't have emissions regulations on that car, then you should consider saving up for a full exhaust system.

I think you might be right, It might be 7's all around for NA, I forget right now. The info can be found in the FAQ in the 2nd gen section.

Nope. The computers at Kragen state that both the n/a and turbo models use both the 7's and 9's.

1. Maintenance. See Haynes manual or FSM in forum FAQ.
2. Auxillary ports before catalytic converter (search).
3. Catalytic converter.
4. Mufflers.
5. Cold air intake (not worth much).
6. Royal Purple oil (not worth much).

Search forums for more info.

this is the best budget ECU to consider: www.pocketlogger.com

No chipped ECU will guarantee a horsepower increase. However, the Rtek as well as other piggybacks (AFC Neo, SAFC-II, etc...) will allow you, rather an experienced dyno tuner, to tune your car to a higher level than stock. The Rtek will pretty much be able to bring as much out of your current setup as possible, but you need to find a good tuner who knows what he's doing, otherwise you may end up with a blown engine.

Royal Purple is a high performance synthetic motor oil

Other synthetics to consider are: Idemitsu, Redline, Amsoil, Mobil 1

Synthetic brands other than those mentioned should be avoided.

Search about 5th and 6th port induction on series 4 cars in this section.

Since you only have 500 euros, that's probably only enough to get a catback. That being said, you're probably not going to affect the 6 ports that much.

As far as horsepower goes, there are tons of little things you can add to boost power. Changing your intake, exaust system or fuel system can be done to boost power for a great change in power.
Thinking bigger, you could add a turbocharger if you wanted, but this is fairly expensive to do and rather complicated. You could also add an intercooler to the engine to cool the air coming into the engine.

Intercoolers have no business being on NA's, I hope you weren't suggesting that.
