Getting more HEAT out of your car!

I was wondering, has anyone put a bigger fan, or a bigger/better heater core, or found a way to just send the fan more power (without melting it)?

I love driving with the top down even when it is the middle of winter, and I only put the top up on the coldest of days. I want to be able to throw out enough heat to keep the top down in colder weather, and to cook bacon.

Like most RX-7 parts, I hope this one wont end up shooting flames

A good cooling system flush.
Use water wetter with the anti-freeze.

Install a hotter thermostat.

I think he means he wants the climate control to send out more heat, not to get rid of heat from the engine.

The heating system is already oversized for the RX-7, but I imagine you could use a custom heater core and get even more heat out, or you may wish to consider a secondary electric heater (such as seat heaters).

Seat heaters with the wiring and switches and everything are only like $100 a pair on ebay.

How hot is the air coming out right now? It should be fairly uncomfortably warm. If it's not, you might want to look into changing your thermostat out (if it's sticking open, coolant temps will be low).

Also, it would be a lot of work to fabricate, but a VW-bug style heater involving running air over the exhaust manifold to heat it up would probably work quite well - we all know how hot rotary exhaust gets.

Stronger heat for the interior? I've always found the heat in my FC very very strong and after 10 minutes of driving w/ the heater on full hot and the fan on maybe 1/4 of the way, the car is way too warm inside hehe

Yeah the Heat in my Car is Very sufficient even in the -38 Degrees Celcius that it is here. But you can get 12V electric floor heater Fans, but the seat warmers would definitely be a better Idea.

But he's talking about the top down in winter in a vert. Which I've done before in an S5 vert and it was VERY comfortable in about 45 degree weather, anything below 40 degree's and it's just too cold unless the sun is out.

I am plenty happy with the temperature of the heat coming out of the vents. What i got a problem with is how little trickles out of the vents. Is there a better fan that i could install to increase overall air flow?

doesn't the convertible model have a stronger heating and a/c system? I thought I read that, maybe on 1300cc.com. My friend's 87 base model's heat is weak temperature and flow, same with my FB, but my Turbo II is a different story because it cooks even with freezing cold leather seats. What about the blower motor out of a FD?

what about an oil cooler? probably too dangerous but the oil is much hotter than the heater core's anti-freeze.

Griots offers a heated seat cushion w/ halfback section that plugs into a cigarette lighter.
